Review by hotel critic
Debi, the front desk lady, truly stood out with her kindness and accommodating demeanor; She made our check-in seamless and even remembered us from our past visits, which added a personal touch typical of New Zealand hospitality. Nestled away from the bustling downtown, the resort offers a peaceful oasis with lovely balcony views of the lake from every room—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. We appreciated the comfortable beds and generous shower pressure, which made for refreshing mornings before our adventures. The logistical side of our visit left much to be desired. Our experience at the pool was even more disappointing, as its cleanliness was clearly neglected, and staff seemed disinterested in addressing our concerns. On a bright note, the resort's proximity to main attractions is a plus, and we enjoyed easy access to local restaurants and entertainment. With better staff support and enhancements in service quality, the Bayshore could be a top-tier destination. As a family who loves the outdoors, we hope to see improvements that align with the beauty of the location and the warmth of the people in the future.
